“The unwearied sun, from day to day,
Does his creator’s powers display,
And publishes to every land
The work of an almighty hand.”
So pens Joseph Addison in his poem “The Spacious Firmament on High”.
In the many times I have considered the faithful consistency of the sun’s movement across the sky, I have viewed it as an expression and demonstration of God’s faithfulness. Never before had I viewed it from the side of an example of faithful service to the creator.
The heavens do declare the glory of God—and they keep doing it, day after day, whether or not anyone takes the time to look up and listen. Now that is a example I have a long ways to go to meet.
