Psalm 139:11-12

If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night," even the darkness is not dark to You; the night is bright as day for darkness is as light with You.
English Standard Version

God can see in the dark.

This is a comfort in our fear, in our isolation, in our unknowns.

It is also a warning when we try to cover up our evil. We can’t.

Is this figurative darkness or literal? Both.

Just night seems to multiply the theft, the violence, the immorality, the book of John talks about how Jesus came into the world to light the world…and men chose darkness rather than light, because their deeds are evil.

There is darkness, in and out, and none of hides from God. He sees it all.

I am thankful, even when I’m facing the fact that God saw sin I just did. It makes repentance easier; He already knows anyway.
